BOARD OF EDUCATION GOALS AND ACTION PLANS

 

1. Plan and initiate the strategic planning process.

ACTION PLAN

A. Meet with NJSB to discuss the elements of the Strategic Planning Process.

B. Decide what parts of the process can be initiated based on cost and time.

C. Develop and implement a schedule to complete the activities identified above.

 

2. Develop and utilize the committee structure for effective Board governance.

ACTION PLAN

A. Assign membership to committees for this year.

B. Schedule and hold committee meetings on a monthly basis.

C. Discuss effectiveness of the committee process during the Board Retreat meetings during the year.

 

 

3. Designate three or four meetings per year as Board Retreats to discuss the progress toward district goals and improve leadership team communication.

ACTION PLAN

A. Assign and publish retreat dates.

B. Prior to each retreat meeting decide on the agenda and what information the Board will need from its administrative team.

C. Hold retreat meeting and evaluate the effectiveness of each.

D. Use the prior meetings evaluation to improve the next retreat.

E. Include the administrative team in the retreat meetings.
