Program Statement of Philosophy
As scientists engaged in inquiry, students need to experience the natural, physical, and chemical worlds directly while learning scientific terminology and theory. These experiences engage students in the scientific thinking processes of observing, communicating, comparing, organizing and experimenting.
The science curriculum emphasizes the thinking skills involved in the scientific methods of data collection, analysis, and problem solving. It introduces students to the biological, physical, and earth sciences. All grades use hands-on experiments and supportive written materials.
